DEAR SINGLE MOM,

How are you? I mean, really, how are you? Yeah, I’m not doing too well today. Can I be honest? I feel so tired and alone. I feel like going for a long drive with no destination, just so that I can breathe. I live at home with my mom and sister; however, I still feel so alone. I feel like no one can see that I am struggling. No one can see I need help. Yes, from the outside, I look put together, but I need to breathe. I need some alone time. I need self-care, and I need to feel appreciated. One of the things I always pray to God is, Lord, I need help. Please send me my husband so that he can be my support and my help. As I begin to pray and beg God for help, God reminds me I am your help. I am all you need. Until you can fully grasp how available I am to you, the longer it will take me to bring your spouse. We yearn for a man when God is the only person who can truly fulfill the desperation of our needs. Man will fail us every time, but God will NEVER FAIL YOU! Being a single mom is tough! There will be days you feel alone, and days you feel unloved. Usually, when I have those days, I ask myself this: Have I prayed today? Have I soaked into the word of God? Is it that time of the month? Let’s be honest sis! I usually feel my loneliest around that time of the month. My emotions are on another level. Haha! But God! Once I realized that I have more control over my feelings, the easier it is for me to bounce back from the enemy's lies. Lies like: you are alone, you will always be alone, you can’t do this, you are not loved, you are not strong enough, or you are a terrible mom. Lies, lies, and more lies! The best way to overcome the lies of the enemy is the word of God! Tell the enemy he is a liar, and God says that... 2 Corinthians 12:9, But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 1 Peter 2:9, But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of the darkness into His marvelous light. Philippians 4:13, For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Daniel 10:19, And he said, “O man greatly loved, fear not, peace be with you; be strong and of good courage.” And as he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.” Romans 8:39, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Deuteronomy 31:6, Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you." Psalm 46:1, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Dear single mom, you are more than enough! You are not alone! Why? Because God is with you always. In His word, it says I will never leave you nor forsake you! You are so loved. God knit you together in your mother’s womb. He was intentional when He created you. He knows every hair on your head. He loves you that much! You are stronger than you think because God is with you! He is your strength and your source. He is your ever-present help when you are in need. You ARE a great mother! God chose you to be a mom! He knew you were perfect for the gift of motherhood. Embrace it and allow Him to lead you! Continue to seek God, and He will delight your steps. Trust that God is the best help you could ever ask for! P.S. Your husband is coming sis, wait on the Lord! His timing is perfect! Don’t lose faith! Stand on His promises! Love always, Jovonna
